The Marietta Redevelopment Corporation helps to ensure the success of redevelopment projects and neighborhood and commercial revitalization through monitoring development and construction activity and continued communication and coordination with developers, builders and other real-estate professionals.
Mixed-use, commercial and residential redevelopment projects located in Marietta tax allocation districts (TADs) are now in various stages of development and construction. There are currently six active developments within Marietta’s TADs in addition to single-lot infill development, planned projects and projects that have already completed construction, sales and leasing.
The majority of active redevelopment projects are located in the Roswell Street renaissance neighborhood improvement district of the Center City South Renaissance TAD, which is located just east of the Marietta Square. Commercial office projects are currently in development and construction phases in the Center City Perimeter TAD beginning the revitalization of underutilized commercial corridors north and west of the Marietta Square. In addition, the city of Marietta is currently undertaking redevelopment of acreage in the Franklin/Gateway TAD for parkland.
As currently planned, redevelopment projects within tax allocation districts will add approximately 860 housing units, 193,000 square feet of office and retail space to downtown Marietta neighborhoods as well as 13 acres of greenspace to the densely developed Franklin Road corridor.
