Acting executive director
Beth Sessoms became the acting executive director for the Marietta Redevelopment Corporation in November 2012. In addition, she serves as Economic Development Manager for the City of Marietta. She is the main point of contact for individuals seeking information on property in the city of Marietta. Her role as executive director is to oversee and coordinate the implementation of projects and initiatives established by the Board of Directors of the Marietta Redevelopment Corporation.
Ms. Sessoms has over eleven years of experience in Economic Development as well as experience in financial services industry. She is a member of International Economic Development Council, Urban Land Institute, Past Chair and Graduate of Leadership Cobb, and graduate of Atlanta Regional Commission Regional Leadership Institute.
Beth holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC.
Teresa R. Sabree, EDFP
Redevelopment project manager
Teresa Sabree joined the Marietta Redevelopment Corporation as redevelopment project manager in 2004. She is a point of contact for individuals seeking information on real property in redevelopment areas. She assists with all aspects of management and operation of the corporation and provides real-estate and demographic research for various city departments, partner organizations, developers and clients.
As redevelopment project manager, Sabree has played a primary role in the creation of tax allocation districts, authoring and implementation of redevelopment plans, assessing feasibility of proposed development projects, marketing of redevelopment areas and production of external communications and organizational reports.
Sabree holds a Bachelor of Science degree in urban policy studies with a specialization in planning and economic development from Georgia State University. She is a member of the Georgia and American Planning Associations, the Urban Land Institute and the Council of Development Finance agencies and has continued her professional development through these organizations as well as the International Economic Development Council and National Association of Office and Industrial Properties.
