Executive director's message
Welcome to the Marietta Redevelopment Corporation website. As the city's lead redevelopment agency, the Marietta Redevelopment Corporation’s principal mission is to strengthen the economic and residential base of the city by revitalizing neighborhoods, commercial areas and other distressed properties. The role of the MRC is to make strategic real estate investments in blighted areas, assemble properties for redevelopment where needed, and partner with the private sector to invest in our community.
This Web page is a tool for the MRC to communicate to Marietta citizens, investors as well as the business community. The Web page contains current community demographics, employment sector data and incentive programs offered by the city of Marietta. I hope that you will find the site useful and will invite your colleagues, friends and family members to utilize the site when evaluating communities across the northwest Georgia region. I’m sure they'll find that Marietta is truly a live, work and play community
Beth Sessoms, Acting Executive Director
The Hedges Street redevelopment site is a 8+/-acre project area assembled by the MRC. The property is bound to the west by Powder Springs Street, borders West Dixie Park and is anchored by the Hilton Atlanta/Marietta Hotel & Conference Center and City Club golf course located across the street.
The Marietta Redevelopment Corporation has worked diligently to prepare this premiere site for disposition to the development community. Through collaborations and partnerships the MRC has secured an allocation of special purpose local option sales tax (SPLOST) revenue for road realignment and signalization to support commercial development pads. The MRC is currently seeking development partners and end users of the site to accelerate redevelopment of the Powder Spring Street corridor.
