Mothers and Magnolias Mother's Day Tea and Luncheon
Dates: 5/11/2013 - 5/11/2013
Time: 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Location: Marietta Museum of History's Virginia Tumlin Community Room, 1 Depot St.
The Marietta Museum of History will recreate the famous Magnolia Room for a Mother's Day tea and luncheon. Original Magnolia Room recipes will be featured and a fashion show led by Carol Westbrook will highlight the event. Westbrook was a fashion assistant in the early 1970s at Rich's Fashion and Fabric office and is the owner of The Magnolia Room Antiques Market in Marietta.
Rich's historian and author of "Rich's: A Southern Institution" Jeff Clemmons will ignite your imagination with stories and history on the Atlanta hot spot where Georgia ladies went to see and be seen.
Moms are invited to dress as they did in your finest pearls, hats and gloves for an afternoon of honoring mothers and of remembering when…
Rich's department store was THE department store of its time. As some remember, it was the place where women would go to socialize. There was food, a fashion show and an excuse to dress up in finery.
