Mainline railroad companies, CSX and Norfolk Southern, directly serve Marietta and connect to the state's 24 short-line rail companies including Georgia Northeastern. Local intermodal facilities provide for quick and efficient movement of products from ocean carrier to rail to truck.
Cobb County International Airport - McCollum Field - RYY is a public airport located 7 miles north of Marietta. The airport is located on nearly 320 acres of land, offers the longest general aviation runway (6,305 ft) in Atlanta and is now an international destination, with the addition of onsite U.S. Customs in June 2015. Recent airport improvements include new taxiways, and a new control tower. Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is located 25 miles south of Marietta and has five runways. There are three main air cargo complexes, a Perishables Complex and a USDA Propagated Plant Inspection Station.
