Diverse Cobb: An In-depth Immersion into History You Should Know

Join the Marietta Museum of History as it continues its Diverse Cobb series. Diverse Cobb focuses on many facets of local black history with the goal of educating the community on overlooked, difficult, and complex topics. This installment of Diverse Cobb will offer a Thursday and a Saturday class option each month- August, September & October. Classes are led by Michael Thomas, a Marietta native, with assistance from Museum Staff, and guest speakers. Drop in to as many classes as you would like. These are informative and fascinating classes, and all are welcome to attend.

Topic: Preservation of Diverse Family Photos, Artifacts, & Important Places: A Scanning Session & Discussion. Bring your family photos, papers and artifacts to scan, share and save!

Cost: $10 per class session paid at the beginning of each class. Museum Members are Free!

The Museum uses ordinary objects to tell the extraordinary stories of Marietta and Cobb County’s rich history and culture. Galleries and exhibits cover topics such as military history, home life throughout the centuries, technology and local businesses from our past. Current temporary exhibits include Pinning From the Past: Scrapbooking Before the Internet and More Than Planes: Aviation in Cobb County.
