Here in Marietta, like most of the metro area, much of drinking water supply comes from the Lake Lanier/ Chattahoochee River system. Although we have had significant rain this spring, Lake Lanier remains 6 feet below full pool. Because it was so dry over the last 12 months, we have a tremendous rain deficit to make up. As a result, we continue in the drought response level 2 as prescribed by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division. This restricts outdoor irrigation and other water uses so that we can conserve our water resources as we continue through drought conditions.
Outdoor irrigating should follow the odd/ even schedule. Addresses with even addresses should only water on Wednesdays and Saturdays before 10 am and after 4 pm. Properties with odd addresses should only water on Thursdays and Sundays before 10 am and after 4 pm.
