Marietta Museum of History to Host History 4.0: African American Experience

MARIETTA - The Marietta Museum of History presents History 4.0, a series of 4-week sessions discussing American history from a local perspective. Join us for our first session with Marietta’s own, Michael Thomas, as he focuses on local African American heritage and the Middle Passage. Michael Thomas will present 4 lectures and interactive workshops throughout the month of November with topics centered around the human trade and transport route.

The Marietta Museum of History has the responsibility to share and preserve the stories of all individuals. Through this program, we will explore the significant history of the African American community as well as the racial strife we are still struggling with hundreds of years later. These classes will take place November 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 30th from 6-8pm at the Marietta Museum of History which is located at 1 Depot Street, Marietta, GA 30060.

Your registration of $40 is for all 4 classes in the month of November. Please register at www.MariettaHistory40.eventbrite.com. All are encouraged to attend these events and spots are limited.

The Museum uses ordinary objects to tell the extraordinary stories of Marietta and Cobb County’s rich history and culture.  Galleries and exhibits cover topics such as military history, home life throughout the centuries, technology and local businesses from our past.  Current temporary exhibits include Shoppin' Southern Style: Fashions from the mid-20th Century and More Than Planes: Aviation in Cobb County.
