Marietta Water organized a stream cleanup for department employees. In just a few hours our staff removed 1,900 pounds of trash out of a small section of Marietta's Rottenwood Creek! More than half a dozen shopping carts, tires, plastic bags, clothing and various pieces of litter were collected from the creek and taken to the landfill. Unfortunately, our water resources are often taken for granted. It is terribly sad to see our creeks littered with discarded garbage. Clean Water Week is a good reminder that it takes all of us working together as a community to protect our waterways and environment. The employees at Marietta Water want to keep our community beautiful! We invite you to join us and pick up litter any chance you get. Even picking up a piece or two of litter can make a difference.
