Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3®) rp3
For the 8th consecutive year Marietta Power has maintained the American Public Power Association (APPA) RP3 award. Our current certification is at the Diamond (highest) level which has been maintained for the third consecutive term. The RP3 designation represents a high level of service to public power communities nationwide. Utilities who achieve this recognition stand out as models for safe and reliable utility operations. RP3 recognizes public power utilities that demonstrate proficiency in four key disciplines:  Reliability, Safety, Workforce Development and System Improvement.  This certification means that we are offering the highest, safest, and most reliable service to our customers on a continual basis.

Water / Sewer


Wastewater Collections System of Excellence (Gold Award/ Platinum Award) GAWP
Marietta Water received statewide recognition by the Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP) for operations and management of wastewater collection system.  Evaluation criteria include staff training and state certifications, preventative maintenance programs, standard operating procedures, response time, system cleaning and survey as well as safety programs.  To receive the Gold award designation, a grade of 95 percent or better is required in all of these categories.  The Platinum status indicates we have won the System of Excellence Gold Award for Collection Systems for 5 consecutive years in a row!
  
Distribution System of Excellence (Gold/ Platinum Award)
Marietta Water also received statewide recognition from the Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP) for operations and management of a water distribution system.  Award criteria include staff training and state certifications, safety programs, preventative maintenance programs, standard operating procedures, emergency response programs, and water loss.  A grade of 95 percent or better is required in all of these categories to receive the Gold award designation.  The Platinum status indicates we have won the System of Excellence Gold Award for Distribution Systems for 5 consecutive years in a row!
