City of Marietta's 175th Anniversary

Steering Committee
The steering committee provides oversight for the yearlong celebration. The committee members are focused on fundraising, publicity and coordinating the events for Marietta's 175th anniversary.

Subcommittees
These subcommittees represent all aspects of the Marietta community. The primary goal of the volunteers is to identify events that recognize the anniversary or to create new opportunities to celebrate Marietta's past, present and future.

Business Committee
The business committee includes large and small businesses and organizations that will work together to not only celebrate the community, but also what their business or organization does to make Marietta such a great community.

Culture Committee
The culture committee includes representatives from the theatres, art institutions and galleries, museums, and other businesses and organizations, including many of the merchants around the square. This group will celebrate the enormous impact culture has on Marietta.

Education Committee
The education committee includes representatives from the local schools and institutions of higher learning in Marietta. Volunteers on this committee will emphasize the achievements of the educational system and highlight the importance of strong educational institutions to promote quality of life in our community.

History Committee
The history committee includes historical institutions, boards, and commissions that help preserve Marietta's past and present and help Marietta plan for a bright future. These volunteers will focus on sharing important historical events with the community. The committee will also work with other committees in telling the stories of their past.

Neighborhood / Civic Committee
The neighborhood/civic committee includes community homeowners associations as well as all civic organizations. This group will focus on neighborhoods and the work of organizations that promote the community.

Religious Committee
The religious committee includes representatives from the faith-based organizations in Marietta. This committee will focus on the strong religious network that contributes to Marietta's quality of life.
