Elizabeth Porter Historic Monument, Art, and Murals Committee

The Elizabeth Porter Historic Monument, Art, and Murals Committee is a citizen committee created by City Council in Fall 2015 to document the history of the site as a recreation center and African-American hospital and their roles within the surrounding African American community.

Committee Projects have included the following:

  • muralist selection and mural design
  • sculptor selection and sculpture design
  • fundraising for sculpture and additional enhancement within the park.

Individuals interested in donating to additional improvements in the park are encouraged to view the attached flyer.
