The Marietta Police Department invites the public and the media to their upcoming "Project Unity"event on Saturday, July 30th from 12pm – 5pm featuring DJ Ricky Moss. The event will be held at the Lawrence Street Recreation Center located at 510 Lawrence Street, Marietta, GA. The Marietta Police Department Community Response Unit (CRU) has teamed up with the Cobb County Safe Kids Coalition to ensure the safety of our children in the community. The department has received Safety Kits that can be donated to families in need throughout the city. Officers are able to give out the kits to families with newborns, infants and toddlers to provide a safe home for the child to grow up in. The kits contain outlet covers, cabinet locks, devices to determine if water is too hot, band aids, a post card to receive a free gun lock and smoke detector, a safety tips post card, emergency contacts magnet and other safety pamphlets.
