On Wednesday, March 25, 2015, the City of Marietta was awarded the Atlanta Regional Commission's 2014 CREATE Community Award in the Community Involvement & Collaboration category for its year-long commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War Battles of Marietta in 2014.
City of Marietta Administrative Offices will be closed Friday, April 3. The City's sanitation schedule including garbage, brush/yard waste and recycling will change for the week.
On Thursday, March 19, 2015, Mayor Steve Tumlin was joined by City staff as he signed paperwork completing the refinancing of the 2009 Parks and Recreation Bond, which saved the taxpayers of Marietta $1.275 million.
